You can also start the training session with road work. Start with light running for about twenty minutes. It is wise to count the time instead of distance. Increase the time just by two minutes every day until you hit your mark. The running helps in building your body and strengthens your legs.

Warming up is as important as the Muay Thai training itself. You have three important steps in the muay thai warm up.
- Stretching- You need to loosen up your muscles before you start with the muay thai training at home for at least ten minutes
- Jump Rope- Two rounds and six minutes workout
- Shadow Boxing – It helps in developing your stance. Shadow Boxing also helps you to position yourself in front of your opponent.
Once the warm up is done you can continue with the bag working, it allows you to adjust your stance. You can adjust your stance, when the bag swings from side to side. You can also learn when to strike the bag i.e when it’s approaching you. Bag working also leads to increase the punching power of the boxer as he/she does not have to hold back like when they’re doing while sparring. Kicks must also be practiced with the punching bag, which comes handy in muay thai kickboxing. For one practice session you can practice 50 push kicks and 50 roundhouse kicks on each leg.
Sparring with a good buddy can help you in the practice. You can choose a buddy to workout and spar with you as practicing is always more effective when you do it with a partner. You can correct the mistakes and learn to control your punches in sparring.
After you are done with the running, warm up exercises, bag workout and sparring you can end the training with push-ups, squats, crunches and 10 minute stretching. Lay off the gloves and get to start training the next day with the same routine. This technique can help you to stay in a good shape and also a distraction from the busy life you lead.
